With solid corner block, stable endplates, and precision fit legs, your Earthlite portable massage table will be a steady surface for you to work on.

Our commitment is to the massage therapist and helping them succeed. But in order to keep everything in balance, we must all do our part to keep our earth plentiful. Earthlite is dedicated to protecting the environment while we spread joy through quality massage equipment. It is because of our dedication to the environment that we use only controlled, renewable woods for our tables. We do not use irreplaceable wood from the rainforest or old growth forests. All of our vinyl coatings and pads are made from environmentally safe materials as well. Working together is the only way to achieve success.

A massage table is a common piece of equipment used by massage therapists the world over. Almost every type of massage is performed on a table or in some cases a chair. Since almost every massage is performed on a massage table it has become the most important piece of equipment any salon, clinic, day spa, or massage therapist can ever purchase. There are three types of massage tables; stationary, portable, and electric lift. There are also spa and salon massage tables but these are generally just modified versions of a normal massage table. There are also robotic massage tables and chairs, however most of the robotic massage devices are chairs rather than tables. These types of tables are for home use and not for use with a massage therapist.

Early massage tables used primitive surfaces, usually some sort of rock or wood without any kind of padding. But as the art of massage became increasingly popular new levels of comfort were desired. The first and most natural choice was to use common beddings of the times such as hay or sheep’s wool. Over time more sophisticated types of bedding became available. Any technology that improved comfort was applied to the massage table. In more advanced civilizations like Rome craftsman built marble and limestone tables, creating a smooth and soft surface.

Since comfort is the most important aspect of massage it is no wonder that tables have become amazingly comfortable in recent times. Every type of padding imaginable has been used in manufacturing. One of the larger problems with past beddings was the fact that they had to be cleaned after every use. Hygiene and cleanliness were a problem as well as the durability of the padding used. Modern materials have allowed us to create massage table pads that can be easily cleaned, durable, and most importantly comfortable. In addition many of the materials available today are hypo-allergenic, making massage more convenient for those with allergies.

Choosing the right massage table can be an overwhelming task. But with a little understanding of the various features and types of massage tables, deciding which table to invest in should be no problem. The first thing to do is analyze all of your needs. What are your space requirements? Will your table need to be moved frequently? What types of massage will you be performing? What is your budget? There are many different brands and types of tables to choose from, and once you can answer the previous questions, choosing will be much easier.

Among the popular brands like there are basically two kinds of tables; portable and stationary. Only massage therapists who will be traveling or changing locations frequently will need a portable massage table. If you are working out of a clinic, spa, salon, home or office a stationary table will suit you just fine. Of the stationary tables there are two variations; spa and salon and regular. Regular massage tables are built the same as portable massage tables, with wood frames and legs and comfortable padding on the table top. Spa massage tables, however, are built with metal and machine parts and are going to be much heavier than a regular table. These tables are for larger clients or permanent locations. A salon table will be found in spas more than in smaller, less permanent locations.
